Arshad Sharif and Ishrat Fatima to get civil awards
Arshad Sharif and Ishrat Fatima are among 127 personalities to be honored with civil awards on March 23. The awards will be conferred by President Arif Alvi.

ISLAMABAD – ARY News journalist Arshad Sharif and veteran newscaster Ishrat Fatima are among 127 personalities to be honored with civil awards on March 23.

President Arif Alvi will confer the awards on these individuals who have shown excellence and courage in their respective fields.

The list also includes 18 foreign nationals.

Sharif is a senior journalist and hosts the current affairs program Power Play on ARY News. He has Masters degrees in media studies and public administration. He previously worked for Reuters, The News, Dawn, Dunya News, and Aaj TV.

Fatima is a veteran newscaster and was the face of Pakistan Television’s 9:00 pm news bulletin Khabarnama in the 1980s and 1990s.

She started her career with Radio Pakistan where she hosted the program Khel aur Khilari.

She went to PTV for the weather segment but got selected for the news bulletins.
