Appearance of Israeli parliamentarian on Pakistani channel angers viewers
An Israeli parliamentarian's recent appearance on a Pakistani news channel has provoked significant backlash from viewers and the Palestine Foundation. The organization demands clarification and immediate action from authorities.

ISLAMABAD—The recent appearance of an Israeli parliamentarian on a Pakistani TV news channel has angered many TV viewers. In this regard, the Palestine Foundation in Pakistan has issued a statement to record a strong protest.

“There is a need for asking for clarification in what capacity the Israeli parliamentarian was invited on the Pakistani TV channel,” the organization demanded, emphasizing PEMRA to take immediate notice.

The Foundation, while condemning this act, stated that Palestinian people are facing the worst kind of oppression by Israel for the past many decades. Regrettably, some so-called Pakistani journalists are trying to maintain loyalty to the oppressor.

The private TV channel, according to the Palestine Foundation, has also ignored the ideology of Pakistan by broadcasting the speech of an Israeli parliamentarian. Pakistan does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, and Pakistan’s stance regarding Palestine is very clear.

Similarly, a large number of Pakistani journalists are showing solidarity with the Palestinians. Many have boldly expressed support for Palestine and condemned the barbaric war crimes by Israeli forces.

Press Clubs across the country have organized demonstrations. “Pakistani people have an emotional attachment with the Palestinians,” a protestor said.

The government must keep a close eye on the national media and all those elements trying to create a soft corner for Israel must be discouraged. The erring news channel must issue an immediate clarification on this sensitive issue, the Palestine Foundation demanded.

  • Palestine Foundation protests, demands clarification from the TV channel.
