Security of news organizations enhanced in Islamabad
Following the recent attack on ARY News, Islamabad Police are strengthening security for media organizations in the capital. Various measures, including a security audit and installation of panic alert systems, are being implemented to ensure safety.

ISLAMABAD - Following the attack on ARY News Teelvision in Karachi Monday, the Islamabad Police have enhanced security around media houses in the capital. A police source said that supervisory officers of various police stations have been directed to monitor the security of their respective areas and keep a check on their subordinate staff deputed for security purposes at various media houses. The Islamabad Police have been directed to ensure coordination with other police wings, including special branch and share information with them in time. To ensure effective security arrangements of media outlets, he said that capital police have already conducted asecurity audit and survey of 38 media houses and have installed panic alert system. The police source said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had categorically asked to review security arrangements of media outlets and various steps have been taken by Islamabad Police in this regard. He said various meetings were conducted by police officials with Press Information Department’s officers and representatives of media houses. A panic alert system has been installed at 31 media houses after conducting the security audit of 38 outlets while more than 100 security guards have been given security training, the source added. - APP
