PEMRA serves notices on ARY News, two others
PEMRA has taken action against ARY News for its coverage of the tragic case of Farishta Mohmand. Notices were also issued to News 5 and News One TV for their inappropriate content.

ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA has served show-cause notice on ARY News for its irresponsible reporting on Farishta Mohmand, a 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped, raped, and killed in Islamabad.

ARY ran a series of tickers that seemed to justify the rape and such journalism angered tweeple with #BoycottARYNews a top trend on Twitter on Wednesday.

PEMRA also issued a show-cause notice to News 5 for airing an improper audio call.

A notice was also served on News One TV after its program host Sahir Lodhi asked objectionable and indecent questions to religious scholars in the Ishq Ramzan program.
