KARACHI: The mainstream media has been doing propaganda against upcoming BOL News Television, day in, day out as media seths have struck a deal with the government to block the channel. Senior Executive Vice President and Editor of yet-to-be launched English daily of BOL Group, Amir Zia said this while addressing workers and journalists attached with BOL.
“The propaganda is not only against Shoaib (Ahmed Shaikh, CEO) or Axact rather it is against BOL and all those working with Axact,” he said. In his moving speech, he said that emotions can’t be converted into words and the love and confidence of all journalists that they reposed in BOL can’t be translated into words.
“We know who is supporting the media propaganda against us … the same Nawaz Sharif whose political father is General Zia-ul-Haq,” he said, “we are well aware of dictatorial mindset of Nawaz Sharif." BOL is being attacked by certain forces as it has been talking about introducing a revolution in the media industry, he said, “the dream of BOL is quite different than that of some media seths.” He said BOL wants to do objective journalism unlike Geo News and Express.
“We know Shoaib is an honest person and he wants to set up a modern media organization in the country." All evil forces including the government, Nawaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar, corrupt officers of FIA and media tycoons have got united against BOL, he said.
“They want to gag BOL but I want to tell them that BOL can’t be stifled." “If we remain persistent in our struggle, people will join us in the fight against the evil forces. Time is with us and we will win,” he said. Photo courtesy: bolnetwork.com
