Hamid Mir contributes Rs1 million to dams fund
Hamid Mir has pledged Rs1 million to the chief justice and prime minister's dams fund. He emphasized the need for water reservoirs to combat water shortages in the region.

ISLAMABAD – Prominent GNN Television presenter Hamid Mir has announced contributing Rs1 million to the chief justice and prime minister’s joint dams fund.

In a tweet, he also disclosed that GNN Network Directors Zulqarnain Nawaz Chattha and Zubair Nawaz Chattha had announced Rs50 million for the fund.

On the other hand, he said that Salman Ahmad, a polio goodwill ambassador and peace activist, “surprised us with the announcement of 100000 US dollars for the fund.”

In another tweet, Mir pointed out that water is a symbol of life. The “whole region needs water reservoirs.”

He added that “we are not helping any individual or government by contributing in the dam fund we are helping humanity we are helping our countrymen who are facing problems due to water shortage this is a bigger problem than terrorism.”
