Court throws out decision to cancel Taas newspaper declaration
The Islamabad High Court overturned the chief commissioner's office decision to cancel Urdu Daily Taas's declaration. The court instructed the newspaper to continue its operations amid ongoing discussions with the administration.

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court Monday threw out a decision by the chief commissioner’s office to cancel the declaration of Urdu Daily Taas.

The court directed the newspaper to continue publishing while seeking a reply from the Islamabad administration.

The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) had helped file a case in the Islamabad High Court.

The paper’s management claims it was targeted because of news it published against the Islamabad chief commissioner.
