The BBC is addressing the illegal use of its logos in Pakistan. It has warned of potential legal action against those misleading the public through unauthorized broadcasts.

ISLAMABAD – The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has taken serious notice of the unauthorized and illegal use of their logos in Pakistan.

In a public caution notice published in Dawn on Monday, the BBC said that it had come to its notice that various people, including some purported journalists in Pakistan are illegally and immorally using the BBC marks or similar variations.

The advert said that these people were promoting and transmitting their unauthorized broadcasts over the internet, in particular through social media sites.

"British Broadcasting Corporation taking serious notice of the unauthorized and illegal use of their BBC marks and associated IP has initiated legal action to put a stop to these practices."
