ARY drops Mubashar promo
ARY TV has removed a promo featuring Mubashar Luqman, leading to rumors about his employment status. Luqman previously faced backlash after a leaked interview video went viral.

ISLAMABAD: The management of ARY TV has dropped the promo of disgraced anchor Mubashar Luqman prompting rumors he might not be taken on board.

It was last month that ARY first ran the promo featuring Luqman himself but it turned out it was a copy of another promo titled ‘I am an entrepreneur’.

This not only brought shame to Luqman but also put the channel in an awkward position.

JournalismPakistan.com sources in Islamabad and Karachi say that although the ARY managers are keeping mum on this issue, it just might be they have decided not have him on the team.

Earlier in June Luqman was reportedly fired by Dunya TV following a leak of behind-the-scene conversations during a special interview with property tycoon Malik Riaz.

The video of the program Dunya Special which Luqman co-hosted with Meher Bukhari went viral. It created quite a rumble within the media fraternity leaving the role and ethics of television anchors open to question.

In the video, Luqman, and Meher were shown talking to Malik during intervals – conversation that clearly revealed the interview was set-up.

Mubashar is currently said to be in the US and according to one of his tweets, is likely to return home before Eid.
