TikTok, Facebook engaged for showing T20 cricket series
The Pakistan Super League has teamed up with TikTok and Facebook to cover the remaining matches of its sixth season. Fans will need to sign up for a nominal fee to access the live streams online.

ISLAMABAD—The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) has joined hands with popular video-sharing platforms TikTok and Facebook for covering the remaining 20 matches of the sixth season of the T20 cricket tournament.

Facebook's Paid Online Events service will also help the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to monetize the matches. Similarly, TikTok users will explore opportunities to create valuable content on the social media platform. It is worth mentioning that The PSL 6 anthem Groove Mera was an instant hit on TikTok, with the #GrooveMera hashtag having 1.7 billion views so far.

Reportedly, Pakistani cricket fans will be required to pay a nominal one-time sign-up fee of about US$4.99 (around 780 rupees) to access the live broadcasting. The cricket matches can also be watched at any time. The online coverage on social media platforms will be accessible worldwide except where the PCB already has existing on-air rights agreements with international media partners.
