Ten Sports' license of landing rights expired last year
Ten Sports' license to operate in Pakistan has expired, and its renewal is currently under review. The channel denies rumors regarding revocation due to its Indian origin.

ISLAMABAD - Ten Sports’ license of landing rights for Pakistan expired last year and its renewal is pending because of security clearance issues.

A JournalismPakistan.com source has confirmed that the channel does not have a valid license as of today.

On Tuesday Ten Sports had said the channel continues to enjoy its license from PEMRA and maintains a healthy relationship with its regulator.

It was responding to a JournalismPakistan.comreport that said its license was likely to be revoked because of its Indian origin.

There are chances that Ten Sports may not be able to broadcast the ICC World Cup to Pakistani viewers. But the channel denies such reports as unfounded.

(This is a developing story and will be updated in due course).

KEY POINTS:

  • Ten Sports' landing rights license expired last year.
  • Renewal of the license is pending due to security clearance issues.
  • The channel claims it maintains a good relationship with PEMRA.
