Sports ace Waheed Khan set to return to television screen

KARACHI – Waheed Khan, one of Pakistan’s most prominent and competent sports journalists, has joined GTV HD where he goes on air on December 10.

Khan remained off screen since leaving Geo Super in May where he worked for ten years.

Having a massive fan following, he will now host the program ‘G Sports with Waheed Khan’ that will air daily Monday through Thursday.

GTV HD, headquartered in Karachi, is a new channel that was launched recently.

Khan established himself as the most exceptional sports journalist in the country working at The News in the early 90s.

His style of writing and ability to produce exclusive stories made his colleagues go green with envy. Hockey and cricket were his forte, although he covered other sports too.

During his 15 years working for The News, he rarely missed covering an international event – such big ones like the Olympic and Asian Games, World Cups and other tournaments.

Khan also covered sports for Reuters for 14 years and was a staff reporter for three years.

He also runs Cafe Cricket on YouTube, an independent cricket centric show in which all matters relating to Pakistan cricket are discussed threadbare.
