Spate of resignations at NewsOne after Rana Mubashir quits
Rana Mubashir, Director News at NewsOne, has resigned, leading to a wave of staff resignations at the channel. Many employees left in solidarity with him amid management conflicts.

ISLAMABAD: Rana Mubashir's decision to quit as Director News and senior anchor of NewsOne Television this week has prompted a spate of resignations at the channel.

At least three dozen staff members from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore have quit to show their affection with their senior colleague. Among those who have resigned are senior assistant editors, news production head, deputy bureau chief, news anchors, program hosts and a reporter besides NLEs and lower staff.

Mubashir who hosted the program Rana Mubashir @Prime Time resigned after reportedly being accused by the management of doing pro-armed forces shows and criticizing the government.

Insiders say the management is refusing to pay all outstanding salaries to those who have parted ways.

Mubashir served the channel for almost six years.
