Sher Afzal Marwat launches personal attacks on journalists after PTI expulsion

ISLAMABAD – Sher Afzal Marwat, a Member of the National Assembly recently expelled from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has intensified a war of words with several journalists, following his harsh remarks against the party leadership and Aleema Khan, the sister of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The verbal sparring turned particularly ugly on social media, where Marwat exchanged deeply personal and offensive comments with prominent journalists.

Journalist Samina Pasha, commenting on Marwat’s rhetoric in a post on X, remarked that he had crossed all limits, calling him “kamzaraf” (petty). In response, Marwat launched a vicious attack, saying: “Kamzarf toh tumhare walidain hain jinhon ne tumhein janam diya” ("Petty are your parents who gave birth to you").

Marwat’s tirade didn’t stop there. He targeted Moeed Pirzada, branding him a deserter and calling him shameless. In a serious allegation, Marwat claimed that Pirzada had used the thumb impression of his dying father to acquire property.

He also lashed out at pro-PTI YouTubers, branding them as “thieves and fraudsters” who, according to him, have taken sides with the party for personal gain.

Marwat was expelled from PTI on February 12, 2024, after the party revoked his basic membership. Since then, he has turned into a fierce critic of the party, its leadership, and supporters—including journalists like Imran Riaz Khan, Moeed Pirzada, and Samina Pasha.
