Shahryar Khan re-elected NPC President

ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist Shahryar Khan was re-elected President of National Press Club Islamabad for a second consecutive term as he led the Journalist Panel to victory in the annual elections held on Saturday.


He polled 1329 votes while Tariq Chaudhry who got 1249 votes was re-elected the secretary for the second term running. Waqar Satti got elected as the secretary finance unopposed . Abdur Razzaq Sial, Baqir Sajjad Syed and Shakir Solangi were elected vice presidents.


Others elected unopposed are Vice President Fareeda Hafeez, Joint Secretary Asim Ali Rana, Shafqat Hussain Saba, Aamir Sajjad Syed and Myra Azam.


All 17 members of the governing body were also elected unopposed. They are Waqar Kazmi, Syed Samar Abbas, Nawabzada Khursheed, Waseem Khan, Ejaz Hussain Malik, Malilk Qasim, Sohail Shahzad, Basharat Khan Abbasi, Syed Nasir Abbas Naqvi, Kashif Rafique, Muhammad Qaisar, Syed Shaharyar Hussain, Hadi Abdul Manan, Mohsin Ali, Nosheen Akbar, Sadia Sehar and Afshan Qureshi.
