Sana Bucha on Yousaf Baig's appointment: Expect more gagging of media
Sana Bucha expressed concerns about media censorship following Yousaf Baig Mirza's appointment as the PM's special assistant on media affairs. She suggests that objectivity in media will diminish under his influence.

ISLAMABAD – Sana Bucha, the on-screen-off-screen television presenter, foresees more muzzling of the media following the appointment of Yousaf Baig Mirza as a special assistant to the prime minister on media affairs.

She took to Twitter to express her views. “…Some more good advice for PM. Just don’t expect objectivity. Do expect more gagging of the media.”

Commenting sarcastically, she said: “Another great choice…in all fairness, this man has remained loyal and persistent throughout.”

Mirza, who was the CEO of Public News Television, has now resigned to avoid conflict of interest. Sana also worked at the same channel but quit last September saying she would never compromise on her editorial position.

Responding to her tweet, prominent presenter Mubasher Lucman commented on the same social platform and said he smelled revenge since Sana Buch has quit, and Yousaf Baig Mirza was at the channel’s helm. Where’s this some rising?
