Saeed Ghani wins defamation suit against Dr. Shahid Masood
Saeed Ghani has successfully secured a Rs10 million defamation suit ruling against Dr. Shahid Masood. The court found the statements aired on NewsOne to be defamatory.

KARACHI - Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani has won an Rs10 million defamation suit against NewsOne Television and its former program host Dr. Shahid Masood.

The Additional District and Sessions Court, South, decreed against the channel and its host for airing a defamatory program.

Ghani had sued Dr. Masood for making a defamatory statement against him aired in November 2017.

The plaintiff had submitted that the statement of the TV host was motivated by personal prejudice and only aimed at damaging his reputation nationwide and internationally.

After hearing the arguments of the counsel, the court decreed against the defendants and directed them to pay Rs10 million in damages.
