The government has announced an allocation of Rs390 million for the Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Division. This will fund 32 development schemes, focusing on media and cultural projects.

ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated Rs390 million in the Public Sector Development Program 2015-16 for 32 schemes of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Division. The major development schemes include dubbing of Pakistani dramas in foreign languages, establishment of Saut-ul-Quran FM Network (national) and Media Monitoring and Tracking Center, Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications. Major chunk of the development budget would be spent on establishment of 22 rebroadcast stations in different areas of the country. The government is planning to spend Rs30.179 on dubbing of Pakistani dramas in foreign languages, Rs31 million on establishment of Saut-ul-Quran FM Network, Rs23.164 million on media monitoring and tracking center. The allocation is for the ongoing projects while the government has added only one new scheme for the 2015-16 development programs. The new scheme, additional security measures at Mazar-e-Quaid Karachi will cost the government Rs45 million.
