Rangers to launch FM radio station in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers have decided to launch an FM radio station in Karachi to directly communicate with citizens to improve law and order in the metropolis.

The main purpose (of the radio station) is to help citizens lodge complaints with the paramilitary force, Voice of Journalists reported. Rangers have been given police powers to weed out criminals and restore peace in the city.

Though it is a normal practice for law enforcement agencies to run radio stations for public good, it is yet to be seen how the Rangers’ initiative would be received by the public.
