PTI MNA walks out after anchor calls Trump 'abba' of the party
Sanaullah Mastikhel, a PTI legislator, left a talk show after being offended by anchor Dr. Fiza Khan calling Trump the 'abba' of PTI. The incident reflects ongoing issues related to Imran Khan's detention.

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Sanaullah Mastikhel walked out of a talk show hosted by Dr. Fiza Khan after she repeatedly referred to former US President Donald Trump as the “abba” (father) of PTI, implying that he could secure Imran Khan’s release from jail.

The incident occurred during the program Darparda on Suno TV when Mastikhel began discussing the influence of the American president. At that point, Dr. Fiza interrupted, calling Trump “PTI’s father” and using the term “abba” multiple times.

Her first remark appeared to suggest that Trump was the MNA’s father, prompting Mastikhel to confront her. She clarified that she was referring to PTI as a whole, claiming the party had hoped Trump would help free the former prime minister.

As she repeated the “abba” remark, Mastikhel removed his microphone and left the set. Before exiting, he retorted that perhaps Trump was her “abba” instead.

Reacting to the exchange, journalist Hammad Hasan criticized Dr. Fiza’s conduct, saying that if she had gained on-screen experience after working at the desk and learning journalistic ethics, she would never have made such a remark about a respected parliamentarian.
