Maqbool Ahmed, a protocol officer, was robbed at Islamabad Airport during an event. He reported a loss of Rs40300 and important documents.

ISLAMABAD — Maqbool Ahmed, a protocol officer at the Press Information Department (PID), had his pocket picked at the Islamabad International Airport on Sunday, losing Rs40300.

Ahmed, a prominent face at government pressers and other events, was standing beside the Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan when the pickpocket struck.

The minister was addressing a crowd of PTI supporters after Prime Minister Imran Khan made his speech on arrival from the United States.

Ahmed said that he first informed police on 15 who told him to file a written complaint with the police post at the airport, which he did.

He said that he had also lost some important papers.
