QUETTA: The head of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) warned Sunday that journalists would march on Balochistan if murderers of three media persons killed last month were not arrested.
Afzal Butt said the government was delaying arrest of the killers who gunned down journalists Irshad Mastoi and Ghulam Rasool and accountant Muhammad Younas last month. All three worked for Online News Agency in Quetta.
"If the killers are not arrested within a week, a movement named 'Chalo Chalo Balochistan Ki Taraf Chalo,' will be launched," announced Butt, in Quetta for a candlelight vigil for the slain media persons in front of the Press Club.
Butt said it was a pity that for the first time Press Clubs in all four provinces were shut down earlier but the government looked the other way.
Among others, Irfan Saeed, President Balochistan Union of Journalists and Razaur Rehman, President Quetta Press Club were present to pay homage.
