LAHORE: The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has served a show cause notice on Express Media Group for an alleged rating fraud.
Dunyanews.tv reported the group has been asked to explain its position following allegations leveled by TV rating company Medilogic and respond within 10 days. The broadcaster’s membership has temporarily been suspended.
A meeting of PBA directors held Wednesday discussed the issue threadbare and decided to serve the notice following a complaint by Medialogic.
PBA said in a declaration that this row between Medialogic and Express Group had defamed the media and affected the advertising industry. It asked both Medialogic and Express to stop trading accusations.
Salman Danish Chief Executive Officer Medialogic Tuesday had alleged the Express Media Group was involved in malpractices to increase its television ratings. On the other hand The Express Tribune said that Medialogic Pakistan demanded Rs450 million from the Express News Television's management and claimed it had evidences against the media group.
