This nationwide online quiz, designed to educate citizens about the Right of Access to Information Act, of 2017, consists of 10 questions, each to be answered within 30 seconds.

The deadline for participation is 25th September 2024, with the winners being announced on 28th September 2024, coinciding with the International Day for Universal Access to Information 2024. Participants can access the quiz via this link.

Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Chief Information Commissioner, emphasized that the Right of Access to Information Act, 2017, is a landmark piece of legislation that empowers citizens to engage more effectively with public institutions. "By exercising their right to information, citizens can foster a more informed and accountable society," he remarked, urging students, journalists, and the public to take part in the quiz.

Sabahuddin Qazi, Chief Executive of the Press Network of Pakistan, reiterated the importance of informed citizens in ensuring good governance and contributing to policy-making. He praised the Pakistan Information Commission for its efforts in implementing RTI laws and highlighted the role of these laws in enhancing transparency, civic engagement, and human rights.

This quiz is part of a broader campaign to raise awareness of RTI laws and encourage more public participation. The contest offers a unique opportunity for individuals to deepen their understanding of their right to access information and its role in promoting transparency and accountability.
