ISLAMABAD—The National Press Club Islamabad on Monday demanded a fact-finding mission to probe the killing of Arshad Sharif in Kenya.
According to a statement, the club also announced three-day mourning over the sad incident.
A meeting presided over by NPC President Anwar Raza noted that the attacks against journalists have become routine and that more than 100 journalists have been killed in the line of duty.
The statement regretted the culture of immunity for the attackers of journalists, saying the cases of attacks on Saleem Shehzad, Hamid Mir, Absar Alam, Matiullah Jan, and other journalists remain unresolved.
The NPC called upon the international organizations working for the rights of journalists and freedom of expression to form a fact-finding mission to probe Sharif's death.
