ISLAMABAD — Fahd Husain, the executive editor of The Express Tribune and executive director news at Express News Television has formally joined Dawn as its resident editor in Islamabad.

On Thursday, Dawn reported he had joined the paper, replacing Arifa Noor, who quit in January 2018.

Fahd has spearheaded the launch of three channels in Pakistan — Express News, Express 24/7, and Capital TV. He also served as editor of The Nation and The News.
He began his career at The Muslim in 1991. In the 1990s, he worked at Pakistan Television (PTV) as an anchor for several shows. He has also worked at leading American TV channel CBS News in New York.
Fahd did his schooling at the Aitchison College Lahore and got his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University USA. He did his Masters in television journalism from Columbia University in New York where he became the first Pakistani to graduate at the top of his class.
