ISLAMABAD: Paramilitary Rangers raided the home of Salman Masood, The Nation Resident Editor in Islamabad Tuesday morning.
The Nation reported the raid was conducted without any documents or search warrants. The paper quoted an official as saying "a terrorist search operation is underway." Masood was asked if he had any hidden weapons.

Tuesday's raid angered some senior journalists. Arshad Sharif, an anchor with ARY News Television tweeted: "Rangers afraid to raid known places of militant mullahs but harass journalist."
His colleague Web Editor Omar R Quraishi said in a tweet: "Ironic that under "anti terror op" the Islamabad home of NYT correspondent @salmanmasood is searched - while Maulana Abdul Aziz roams free."
Mohsin Raza Khan, another senior journalist and broadcaster, termed the raid as unfortunate and called for a protest by journalists in front of the Parliament House.
