National Press Club polls on January 13; schedule announced
The National Press Club elections in Islamabad will occur on January 13, 2018. Nomination papers can be submitted from December 31 to January 3, and comprehensive election details have been announced.

ISLAMABAD - Elections for the offices of the National Press Club, Islamabad, for 2018 will be held on January 13, the election committee announced Saturday.

The Election Committee headed by Nasir Zaidi finalized the schedule at a meeting at the National Press Club.

According to the schedule, nomination papers will be received from December 31-January 3 from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Scrutiny and the initial list of candidates will be displayed on January 4 at 8:00 pm. Examination of papers by interested candidates will take place on January 5 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Objections to nomination papers will be received on January 5 from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. Hearing of objections will be heard on January 6 from 4:00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Provisional list of candidates will be displayed on January 6 at 10:00 pm.

Withdrawal of nomination papers will be allowed on January 7 maximum by 10.00 p.m.

The final list of candidates will be announced on January 7 at 11:00 pm. Polling will be held on January 13 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

For the positions of president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and finance secretary a non-refundable election fee of Rs500 each while for the governing body Rs200 each is required to be deposited along with the nomination papers.

Nomination papers can be obtained from the offices of the National Press Club.
