Nasir Baig Chughtai returning to Geo-Jang Group
Nasir Baig Chughtai, a notable figure in journalism, is rejoining Geo-Jang Group in a leadership role. Previously, he held key positions across various media outlets.

ISLAMABAD – Nasir Baig Chughtai, a prominent name in broadcast and print journalism, is set to return to Geo-Jang Group.

A JournalismPakistan.com source says Baig will be assuming a top position.

Baig took nearly six months off after quitting 92 News in February this year where he worked as executive director news, current affairs, and programming.

Since leaving Geo in 2012, he played a central role in launching Abb Takk in April 2013. There he hosted the program NBC on Air and was the channel’s director news and current affairs.

He left Abb Takk in November 2014 to join BOL News as senior executive vice president.

However, after BOL ran into trouble with the authorities in May 2015, he continued to be with his team through the distressing period. He left only after it was announced that operations would be impossible, and joined 92 News in April last year.

NBC, as he is popularly known, led Geo’s launch in Dubai. He served there in various capacities and at one point was the channel’s executive director. He has also had a stint at ARY News.

In the 1980s he remained associated with Urdu daily Jang, serving in such positions as chief news editor and deputy editor.
