Nadeem Malik says he and his team test negative for coronavirus
Nadeem Malik announced that he and his team tested negative for COVID-19 following a potential exposure. Concerns have arisen within the Samaa news team about safety protocols after a cameraman tested positive.

ISLAMABAD—Samaa TV presenter Nadeem Malik on Wednesday said in his program that the members of his team, including he, had tested negative for the COVID-19.

However, an insider claimed a cameraman had tested positive for the virus.

The team underwent tests after Faisal Edhi, son of renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and chairman of the Edhi Foundation, appeared in his program. Later, he tested positive for coronavirus.

Malik, in a tweet, also claimed that "PCR based Covid-19 tests of his program NadeemMalikLive team are negative."

Insiders say that members of the news department at Samaa are concerned about the situation and want that they are allowed to work from home. They point out that some of the seniors were already doing so.

Malik has conducted his program from home for the past few days.

Last week, Edhi met Prime Minister Imran Khan and had handed him a cheque for Rs10 million as a donation for the premier's coronavirus relief fund.

After Edhi tested positive, Khan's physician recommended that he undergoes the test.
