KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Wednesday staged a protest against ARY News Television for airing programs on Rangers’ raid on Nine-Zero, the party's political headquarters in Karachi.
The party’s parliamentarians said their “media trial” was being held by certain news channels and demanded that it should end immediately.
Members of the party seemed quite perturbed over a CCTV video of Rangers raid that was broadcast by anchor Mubasher Lucman (pictured) in his program ‘Khara Sach.’
MQM MPA in Sindh Assembly, Sardar Ahmed said the media is portraying the good as evil.
The party leader Faisal Sabzwari, however, questioned as to why the media trial of only MQM was being conducted.
The operation against the MQM has raised concerns over the government’s intention and the court’s functionality, he said, vowing to raise these issues in the Sindh Assembly too.
“Even the worst criminals are allowed to give their account of an event in courts but why the MQM workers don’t,” Sabzwari asked.
