MQM Pakistan files complaint against Dr. Shahid Masood
MQM Pakistan has lodged a complaint against analyst Dr. Shahid Masood for allegedly making defamatory remarks. The complaint has been forwarded to PEMRA's Council of Complaints in Karachi.

ISLAMABAD – Electronic media watchdog PEMRA Tuesday forwarded to its Council of Complaints, Karachi, a complaint filed by Kanwar Naveed Jameel of MQM (Pakistan) against NewsOne analyst Dr. Shahid Masood

Jameel, the party’s deputy convener, complained Dr. Masood made baseless, fabricated and false comments against MQM (Pakistan) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mayor of Karachi, Waseem Akhtar.

The program was aired on August 2.

“Dr. Shahid Masood has tried to damage the credibility and reputation of these 2 senior MQM Pakistan leaders,” the complainant said.

He has sought action against the analyst for making allegations that “have hurt the sentiments of hundreds and thousands of supporters of MQM Pakistan.”

PEMRA said it had also received a number of complaints from MQM Pakistan voters.
