Missing journalist Imran Riaz Khan: Lahore High Court sets next hearing date for June 26

LAHORE—Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti on Wednesday adjourned the case of missing journalist Imran Riaz Khan to June 26.

In his short order, the LHC CJ said the petitioner and his counsel had attended the inquiry/investigation proceedings conducted by the respondents to trace out the “missing media person namely Imran Riaz”.

Imran Riaz went missing on May 11 last month.  On May 16, an FIR was registered on the complaint of Imran Riaz’s father.

The order added: “The learned counsel for the petitioner to appreciate the efforts being made by the Special Working Group submits that steps taken by the respondents to trace-out the missing media person are going in the right direction, therefore, hopefully, continuity of it will not take much time to see the success in tracing-out the whereabouts of missing media person.”
