LAHORE—Lahore Press Club (LPC) on Wednesday urged property tycoon Malik Riaz to pay dues of his former employees at AAP News Television before Eid and warned of protests if he did not do so.
In a joint statement, Arshad Ansari, President of the LPC, members of the governing body, and others expressed serious concern over the unpaid dues.
"Malik Riaz stopped broadcast of the channel without any notice and promised to pay the dues. However, he had paid salaries of the one month but failed to pay those for the notice period on April 22."
AAP News (Urdu) Television had announced the closure of its transmission on April 11, citing "some legal and technical" reasons.
