ISLAMABAD -The killing of Saama TV cameraman Taimoor Abbas Sunday is being widely mourned with journalists, politicians and others taking to Twitter to express sadness and shock over his death.
Expressing his views social activist Jibran Nasir tweeted: “Those who serve our society by covering the truth remain vulnerable...”
Journalist Omar Quraishi said the deceased was 22-year-old and the only son of his parents.
Geo TV’s Shahzeb Khanzada was “shocked and saddened” by Taimoor’s death while Nusrat Javed of DawnNews pointed out that all TV channels reported the killing by “naming the channel and the victim.”
PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi condemned the killing. “The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to account immediately.”
MQM’s Khawaja Izhar Hassan asked the government to take “perpetrators to task.”
