KhUJ condemns attack on Samaa team
The Khyber Union of Journalists has denounced an attack on Samaa TV's team covering the Peshawar BRT project. The incident raises concerns about journalist safety and corruption in the authorities overseeing the project.

PESHAWAR — The Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) has condemned an attack on Samaa TV news team, reportedly by the staff of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

The incident occurred when Fayyaz Ahmed and Kamran Khan (pictured) were covering the progress of the BRT project.

The staff abused and beat up the two journalists and also misbehaved with the HUM TV crew.

KhUJ President Fida Khattak and Secretary-General Muhammad Naeem said in a statement that the authorities were attacking journalists to hide their corruption and failure in completing the project.

The union president has constituted a committee comprising journalists to determine the course of action.
