A new segment called "You Asked" has been launched by JournalismPakistan.com to answer questions from journalists and media enthusiasts. This initiative aims to improve engagement and provide clarity on the journalism profession.

ISLAMABAD: JournalismPakistan.com on Thursday introduced a new segment called You Asked that answers questions from journalists, media persons, aspiring journalists and students as well as those interested in news and current affairs.

“We get dozens of emails daily from people seeking information, addressing media issues and journalists looking for opportunities in the media,” said Imran Naeem Ahmad, Managing Editor of JournalismPakistan.com. “For a long time now we have been answering through emails. We thought it was time for change.”

“The idea of starting You Asked was to make the exchange of dialogue more interactive and attractive,” explained Steve Manuel, Chief Editor of the most quoted media website in Pakistan.

The two editors said they were surprised by the volume of information requested. “We never imagined there was so much interest in the media. Now we know differently,” said Imran.

“We hope that even more people make use of this facility,” said Steve. “Based on the correspondence we get, one thing that has become crystal clear is that most people have very little idea of what it entails to be a journalist and the requirements and skills needed to be a successful one. Through this segment we hope to present a more accurate picture.”

JournalismPakistan.com has undergone numerous changes since it was launched three and a half years ago. The website has undergone a complete face change every year and new segments such as JP America, JP Global, JPix, JPYou, Your Vote and most recently Daily Dose By Bikram Vohra have been added.

The website has a following in more than 70 countries and is the most recognized and quoted media website in Pakistan.
