Journalist Waris Raza back home after being abducted
Waris Raza, a senior journalist, was abducted and has now returned home safely. The incident has led to organized protests by various journalistic bodies.

KARACHI —Journalist Waris Raza,abducted from his residence on Tuesday night by an individual, returned home safely on Wednesday evening.

"Senior journalist Waris Raza has been released. Praise be to Allah," the official Twitter handler account of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) announced.

However, the KUJ made clear that a demonstration, as per the previous plan, would be organized outside the Supreme Court on Thursday at 9:00 am to protest taking the journalist into custody and transferring him to an unknown location.

Reportedly, the unknown person had blindfolded the journalist and kept asking various questions regarding his journalistic work.

Raza recently compiled a book on PFUJ's 70-year struggle for ensuring press freedom in the country.

Karachi Press Club (KPC) President Fazil Jamili and other club members condemned the incident.

PFUJ has also called for countrywide protests at every press club.
