Journalist and Pakistan movement activist Sharif Farooq passes away
Sharif Farooq, a senior journalist and activist, passed away in Peshawar after a long illness. His contributions to journalism and the Pakistan movement are widely recognized.

ISLAMABAD - Sharif Farooq, a senior journalist and Pakistan movement activist, passed away in Peshawar Saturday.

The Express Tribune, quoting Radio Pakistan said he was unwell for a long time.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra expressed grief.

In their messages, they praised Farooq’s contributions to journalism and the Pakistan movement.

Farooq authored several books on Pakistan movement.
