Journalist and Imran Khan clash during Toshakhana II hearing at Adiala Jail
Aijaz Ahmed and Imran Khan clashed during the Toshakhana II hearing at Adiala Jail. Tensions escalated over accusations of misconduct and reporting bias.

ISLAMABAD — A heated exchange reportedly took place between journalist Aijaz Ahmed of GNN TV and incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan during the hearing of the Toshakhana II case inside Adiala Jail.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by reporter Qamar Maken, Aijaz allegedly misbehaved with the PTI founder during the proceedings. Maken claimed that when Khan asked the jail administration to remove the journalist from the courtroom, Aijaz responded with even harsher language. The former premier allegedly told Aijaz that his behavior was an attempt to “please the colonel,” adding, “It’s not journalism, but disgraceful behavior.”

In response, Aijaz rejected the allegation and accused Maken of biased reporting. He referred to Maken as a “lifafa journalist” and insisted that it was Imran Khan who misbehaved with him, claiming he only answered back. “Maken should have contacted me before making the claim that I misbehaved with the former prime minister,” Aijaz added.

The online spat escalated further when Maken labeled Aijaz a “tout of the establishment,” accusing him of being known for using abusive language and claiming that he displayed the same conduct during his exchange with Imran Khan in jail.
