ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday suspended the sentence of Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of Software Company Axact and BOL News Network.
Justice Athar Minallah ordered Shaikh’s release on bail. He was arrested in an alleged fake degrees scandal last month, 82 days after being convicted by a trial court to seven-year imprisonment.
District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Mumtaz had sentenced Shaikh, and 23 others in the scandal.
On Tuesday, Justice Minallah said there was no complainant in this case, although the Federal Investigation Agency claims thousands of people were the victims.
