Imran Riaz Khan's arrest; IHC disposes of petition
The Islamabad High Court has dismissed a petition related to journalist Imran Riaz Khan's arrest. Chief Justice Minallah stated jurisdiction issues prevent the court from investigating the Punjab Police.

ISLAMABAD—The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disposed of the contempt of court petition on the arrest of journalist Imran Riaz Khan.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked, "this court cannot investigate the Punjab Police. At present, the petitioner is in the custody of a province which is not within our jurisdiction. "

The lawyer for the petitioner told the judge that he had also filed a contempt of court petition about the arrest in the Lahore High Court.

Mureed Abbas, a resident of Attock, had filed a case against Khan on charges of damaging the reputation of national security agencies.
