Imran Riaz Khan joins BOL News as senior anchor

ISLAMABAD—Prominent journalist Imran Riaz Khan has joined BOL News as a senior anchor.

Khan had briefly moved to Express-News in May but ran into problems after the channel managers refused to let him go on air in August. The management cited no reason for their decision.

A vocal supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Khan, was shown the door by Samaa earlier in April after politician Aleem Khan bought the channel.

In July, police arrested him at a toll plaza on the motorway near Islamabad following a case lodged against him in a police station in Attock. There were also other FIRs against him in police stations elsewhere, all targeting him because of his criticism of the PDM government.
