How embarrassing! 'Modi, Xi will mate 6 times in 4 hours'
The Times of India responded to a viral photoshopped image suggesting an absurd headline about Modi and Xi's meeting. They confirmed the correct headline and addressed the misinformation.

The Times of India on Friday clarified that an image of a headline of one of its stories that has gone viral on social media was photoshopped.

“Modi, Xi will mate 6 times in 4 hours,” read the headline in a photo of the purported news.

The news is about the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s summit this week with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Times of India said in a tweet along with the fake and the original headline: “A Photoshopped image of our headline on the Modi-Xi meet is doing the rounds. All our editions carry the correct headline. You can see the difference when the correct and fake headlines are placed together. The one on the right is the photoshopped image with the word ‘mate’ tilted.”

KEY POINTS:

  • The headline 'Modi, Xi will mate 6 times in 4 hours' is fake.
  • The Times of India issued a clarification on the photoshopped image.
  • Real and fake headlines were compared to highlight the difference.
  • Misinformation spread quickly on social media.
  • The actual meeting pertains to diplomatic talks between India and China.
