Honors for The News journalists
Four journalists from The News were honored at the White Ribbon Campaign Media Awards in Islamabad. Myra Imran won the top prize in the Print Media (News) category.

ISLAMABAD: Four journalists of The News – Shahina Maqbool, Myra Imran, Jamila Achakzai and Irum Nur – won the White Ribbon Campaign Media Awards Friday for their gender-sensitive reporting.

Myra landed the top prize in the Print Media (News) category with Jamila second and Humaira Sharif of APP claiming the third spot.

Honors in the Print Media (Features/English) went to Shahina followed by Sidra Bokhari (APP) and Maham Javed (Herald).

The awards ceremony was part of a National Conference on Gender and Media, organized by White Ribbon Campaign Pakistan (WRCP) to mark the International Women’s Day.

Among the guest speakers were Rameeza Majeed Nizami, Fahd Hussain, Syed Talat Hussain, Qatrina Hussain, Nadia Mirza, Meher Bokhari and Munizae Jahangir.
