Hassan Nisar misbehaves with Reema Omar in live show
Hassan Nisar displayed unprofessional behavior towards Reema Omar during a live broadcast on Geo News. The incident sparked outrage among journalists and viewers, demanding action against Nisar.

ISLAMABAD—Senior journalist Hassan Nisar misbehaved with analyst Reema Omer appearing on Geo News' live show Report Card.

While sharing opinions regarding the current political situation, Nisar lost his temper and started a verbal attack on the female panelist.

The anchor made an obvious mistake; she did not cut both the guests and let the degrading comments go on air during the live show.

Several journalists have demanded that PEMRA take action against this. "Hasan Nisar needs to be taken off air permanently. His harassment of Reema Omar was appalling. He is a misogynistic dinosaur. Let's pledge we will switch channels whenever he comes on air," Quatrina Hussain, prominent journalist, tweeted.

This isn't the first time Nisar specifically targeted Reema. In 2020, he made misogynist comments against her during the same show.

KEY POINTS:

  • Hassan Nisar misbehaved with Reema Omar on a live show.
  • Previous similar incidents involving Nisar and Omar were reported in 2020.
  • Journalists are urging PEMRA to take action against Nisar.
  • The incident has revived discussions about misogyny in media.
  • The anchor failed to intervene during the live broadcast.
