Hamid Mir returns to Geo News
Prominent journalist Hamid Mir has made his return to Geo News after nine months away. His comeback was announced during a press conference by PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

ISLAMABAD—Prominent journalist Hamid Mir has returned to Geo News with his talk show Capital Talk after nine months. During a press conference on Tuesday, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also announced the return of Mir on the tv screen.

Murtaza Ali Shah, sharing video footage of Zardari’s press conference said: "Let me share a good news with you that [Hamid Mir] has returned to [Geo News] to host Capital Talk.”

Mir ran into trouble after a hard-hitting speech at a protest condemning the assault on journalist Asad Ali Toor last summer. He spoke against the security agencies and threatened to spill the beans. Although he later apologized for the speech, Geo TV management took him off the air.

Several journalists and politicians took to Twitter to welcome his return to Geo News.
