PESHAWAR: A grenade was hurled by unidentified assailants at the house of Jamshed Baghwan, Peshawar bureau chief of Express News Television Sunday.
According to a report Dawn, the blast damaged some nearby houses in the Murshidabad neighborhood.
“I was asleep when I heard a loud blast outside the main gate of my residence. As I came out there was smoke and dust hovering over the houses in the locality,” the paper quoted Mr Baghwan as saying.
Quoting eyewitnesses, he said the attacker escaped on a motorcycle from the street.
On March 19 a bomb was recovered from outside his residence. No arrests have been made.Police visited the crime scene and confirmed it was a hand grenade attack.
The Express Group continues to be under attack. Only on March 28, Raza Rumi, an analyst who anchors the program Khabar Se Agay on Express News Television survived a gun attack in Lahore but his driver was killed and a guard injured.
On January 17, three Express News employees were killed in an attack claimed by the Taliban in Karachi while last year there were two gun and bomb attacks on group's Karachi offices that injured at least four people.
