ISLAMABAD—Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says that after the government paid Rs700 million in outstanding dues to the media organizations if they still don’t pay salaries to working journalists, it would be unfair.
The minister said on Twitter that under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directive, payment of Rs700 million in outstanding dues of the media organizations had been completed. He admitted that these outstanding dues were not paid for a long time. “After these payments, there has been a decrease in the financial problems of media workers.”
At the end of the tweet, the minister added that even if now the media organizations fail to give salaries, it would be unfair.
