Gharidah Farooqi has praised Maryam Nawaz for her support toward female journalists facing harassment. This statement came amid ongoing issues in the media.

ISLAMABAD—Television presenter Gharidah Farooqi has expressed gratitude to PMLN leader Maryam Nawaz for supporting NewsOne TV and raising her voice against harassment of female journalists.

In a tweet, Farooqi said, "Thank you, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for standing with NewsOne against illegal ban and notice against me and my program."

PMLN leader, during her media talk, named NewsOne anchor Gharidah, Aaj News' Asma Shirazi, 24 News HD's Sana Bucha, and other female anchors who have been harassed and defamed under the current government.
